NCFRW – Celebrating the Blessings of Liberty!

January 2025

From the desk of Kay Wildt, NCFRW President

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

We begin 2025 thankful, knowing that, with God's guidance, President Trump and his amazing Cabinet will lead America on the right path. World leaders already recognize that a patriot is in charge.

As we know, the Left will never abandon its goal of destroying the America we love, and that is why it is more important than ever for us Republican women to increase our membership and to strengthen our communication.

Without communication and the power of numbers, we risk losing the voters who came on board in this election. George Soros' son now controls a radio empire of 200 radio stations across America. The Democrat-controlled FCC allowed the purchase, as reported by the Washington Examiner and other sources.

Many of the Soros-controlled stations are conservative - and these stations range from Talk Radio to Country to Religious. In Charlotte, Soros controls 15 stations; in Fayetteville 11 stations; in Greensboro 5 stations.

We need our own voice of Truth, and we need solidarity with one another more than ever. Pray for God's blessings on President Trump and his Cabinet, on America and on our federation of women who defend Liberty.

*****2024 in Review*****

Our Winter meeting in Wrightsville Beach featured Tom Trento, an international terrorism expert with The United West. Laurel Brooks of My Faith Votes introduced us to their "Write Now" campaign, an effort to turn the hearts and minds of non-voters. Our clubs enthusiastically joined with other NC conservatives and others across the nation, and our efforts turned out hundreds of thousands of non-voters. You did it; I believe, you won the election for President Trump in NC!

Gay Dillard, VP Central Region, chaired an exciting Legislative Day in Raleigh and had visits with our legislators, NC School Superintendent Catherine Truitt and a trip to the NC Court of Appeals with Judge Donna Stroud. Many thanks, Gay.

Our Spring meeting was held in June at the NCGOP Convention. During the summer, Clare Lopez, former CIA officer, spoke via Zoom about current world security. We also sponsored a five-part Zoom Summer of Liberty lecture series on the US Constitution taught by Dr. Christin McMaster.

All through spring, summer and fall, NCFRW donated thousands of volunteer hours for candidates in the Primary, the second Primary, Strike Forces, door knocking, phone banking, attending GOP training, poll watching, working on election integrity, voter registration and working polls in flood-ravaged western NC.

In addition, NCFRW donated funds on your behalf to women candidates, to the Judicial Victory Fund and to every Council of State candidate.

At our Fall meeting, NFRW Secretary Heidi Parker Martin of Louisiana encouraged more of us to take our places in leadership and run for office in our communities. Committee chairs updated members on NFRW issues. Lari Bubile was wonderful managing registration.

Stephanie Broughton, VP Coastal Region, chaired the Tribute to Women Dinner where 29 members were honored by their clubs. Attorney Sidney Powell spoke about the tyrannical treatment that she and other lawyers continue to receive from the 65 Project, an ongoing, relentless effort to destroy any lawyer who attempted to help President Trump in 2020. Excellent event, thank you, Stephanie.

We are grateful to our clubs and members working in the mountains to relieve suffering with projects like providing Bibles, donating supplies and sending gifts to churches to distribute. We continue working to secure and direct donations to the excellent charities working on site.

Reflection by Margeaux Holland

Lord, you have heard and answered our prayers for peace, wisdom and for healing of our land. We are grateful! Your word says your mercy is new every morning, and we believe that for our country, state and home.

We lift up our leaders at every authority that you would give them wisdom on how to rule the people. Understanding to know their communities. And compassion that they know and serve their people.

Micah 6:8 “He has shown you, O man, what is good. And, what does the Lord

require of you? To act justly, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with God."

Great are you Lord and may you enable us….to do great things.

Dottie Martin Teachers Scholarship Luncheon

We had such great feedback from last year's Dottie Martin Teacher's Scholarship Luncheon Fundraiser where your donations were assembled into lovely gift baskets.

We hope that your club or members will donate items again. Baskets or nice items would be much appreciated.

In 2024 scholarships were awarded to four NC students enrolled and studying in the field of education who want to make a difference in the lives of North Carolina’s children.

As always, thank you for your generous support of this scholarship which for 34 years annually funds thousands of dollars in scholarships.

Law Enforcement Appreciation Day (L.E.A.D.)

Thankful for our Blue

January 9th is Law Enforcement Appreciation Day (L.E.A.D.). Clubs annually deliver letters of appreciation and treats, to all law enforcement offices in their county, including school safety officers. Snacks, fruit, candy, bottles of water, even K-9 treats for furry officers.

In 2024 the tragic deaths of seven North Carolina law enforcement officers remind us that these officers daily risk their lives for us. They keep our communities safe, and they deserve our thanks.

In Memoriam

Karen Alexander

Rowan County Republican Women announce the passing of their beloved member and friend, Mayor Karen Alexander.

An architect by trade, Karen was first elected to the Salisbury City Council in 2013. In 2015, she was first elected mayor of Salisbury in a nonpartisan election and elected again in 2020.

Karen was a past president of the North Carolina League of Municipalities. U.S. Sen. Ted Budd, R-N.C., called Alexander “a remarkable public servant and tireless advocate for the people of Salisbury.”

Our prayers and deepest condolences go to Karen's family and friends.
