A-Tech Holiday Food Drive

Culinary Arts II students Macey Loucks (left) and Casey Munshower (right) helped assemble the care packages.

A-Tech students understand the meaning of giving during the holiday season!

Students and staff came together to bring a total of $2,184.92 in

non-perishable food and other items to create care packages that were donated to A-Tech families in need. For decades, A-Tech students and staff have donated to spread joy during the holiday season.

Material Science Explores

The Properties of Matter

Anthony Samplak and Ariel Guenther use scientific rules of examination to classify an

object during the properties of matter activity.

Students in Cheryl Bornino's Material Science class recently explored science of matter through an investigation of material properties. Students analyzed objects and put them in categories based on their properties. This gave students the opportunity to see how the composition of each object relates to modern technology and engineering.

Santa Makes a Special Visit

Before Christmas, Santa made a special visit to our Kids' Korner Preschool, operated by our Early Childhood Education program. Santa had a stocking and a book for each preschool student. The children were overjoyed to meet Santa and shared their holiday wishes with him.

Warming Wall Donation

The Health Care Academy students donated winter essentials, such as hats, scarves, gloves, and socks, to the Warming Walls, created by Ashtabula County Job & Family Services, located throughout the county. The Warming Walls provide much-needed warming articles of outerwear to those in need during the colder months.

Warming Walls are located at Andover Sparkle Market, Ashtabula First Presbyterian Church (by the Ashtabula Public Library), Conneaut Liberty Street Park, Jefferson Memorial Park, and Orwell Country Neighbor. Watch the video, created by A-Tech Multi Media students at Jefferson Area High School, to see how you can help your community.
