WELCOME, WILDCATS!
Welcome to the Spring 2025 Semester at Western Nevada College, where the weather has been a little more like spring than winter!
If you didn't register for classes on time for the start of the semester, don't worry that you have to wait until the next semester to become a student. Students can add full-term classes through Jan. 27, but after this date, they must submit a late registration form with instructor approval to Admissions and Records.
Flexible learning has become popular with students, giving them opportunities to register for classes after the semester begins. Open entry classes allow students to register for a class through the ninth week of the semester and work at their own pace to complete the class. Late-start and short-term classes provide students with accelerated learning and a shorter time commitment. Many late-start classes begin on March 24 and end on May 17, while short-term classes commenced on Jan. 21 and end in the middle of March. Students can view a list of full-term, late-start, short-term and open entry classes at wnc.edu/schedule.
Student-centered activities are planned throughout the semester by Student Life and student government this semester. Some of the highlights are Welcome Back Week (lots of goodies and fun activities) on Jan. 27-30, Pal-entine's Day on Feb. 13, National Science Day on Feb. 27, and more.
Have a great and successful semester!

Continuing Ed Class Helps People Map Out Caregiving |
When a family or friend experiences a medical crisis, a family member or friend willingly accepts the role of caregiver with little knowledge of what will be required of them. By nature, caregivers are wonderfully giving people, but they often lack an understanding of the long-term medical and legal steps that lie ahead for both the caregiver and the ill care partner.
To help fill this critical gap, WNC is pleased to partner with Dr. Deb Cash to present a Continuing Education course titled “Mapping Out Caregiving.” This 3-hour class will be offered on the Carson City campus on Feb. 8 and May 2. Register at wnc.edu/continuing-education/personal-interest.
