Happy New Year, Big Red Nation!
As we begin a new semester, I want to reiterate our wishes of a Happy New Year to all. I do hope everyone had a wonderful winter break spent with family, friends and loved ones.
As we begin a new calendar year, January offers the perfect opportunity to reflect, reset, and refocus. I hope the holiday season provided our students, families, and staff with time to do this. I am excited to welcome everyone back as we begin the second half of the school year together.
January is a time of renewed purpose. For our students, it is an opportunity to set academic goals, recommit to positive habits, and continue striving for personal growth. For our staff, it is a time to build on the solid foundation already in place and to continue delivering high-quality instruction in a supportive, engaging learning environment.
I remain deeply grateful for our teachers and staff, whose dedication and professionalism continue to make Big Red a place where students feel supported, challenged, and inspired. The unique school culture we experience each day does not happen by accident—it is the result of your collective efforts and shared commitment to excellence.
As we cross the midway point of this academic year, seniors must remember that these last months of high school will move fast! Keep in mind that every senior must complete 40 hours of service learning as part of their Capstone project. Working with and giving back to our community is a foundational value at SHS. We know that these projects will benefit the graduating senior and the community partner they work with. We look forward to seeing the impactful work our seniors will do this spring.
As we approach the first days and weeks of the 2nd semester, I encourage everyone to stay focused, stay connected, and look out for one another. Together, we will continue to make meaningful progress and ensure a successful and rewarding second semester.
Thank you for your continued partnership and support. Wishing everyone a happy, healthy, and productive New Year. Roll Red!
Sincerely,
Mr. Newman
