Shaping Fondren’s Future Together
Fondren is entering an exciting and important season of growth, and the Foundation is actively working to ensure that growth reflects the values, character, and creativity of our neighborhood.
Through Fondren Forward, we are advancing several big ideas from vision to action. This includes early work toward the formation of a Fondren Community Development Corporation, which will help guide thoughtful and equitable development and help eliminate blight. We are discussing plans for a Fondren Food Tour that celebrates the restaurants and culinary talent that make Fondren a destination. Once the weather warms up, you will see us get started on a landscaping and signage project in the Central Business District, thanks to funding from the legislature.
We’re also already planning for favorite traditions. This year will mark the fifth annual Bottle Tree & Garden Tour, and preparations are underway for another Symphony at Sunset. These are signature events that showcase Fondren while supporting the work ahead.
At the same time, we continue collaborating with the City of Jackson to move initiatives like Eubanks Creek into their next phases. With new development anticipated to come out of the ground in Fondren, this moment presents both opportunity and responsibility, and we are committed to getting it right.
