LINE DANCING LESSONS TO GET YOUR HEART BEATING

We are so excited that our line dancing workshops have been a sold out success that we are bringing it back for a January class series. Join us for some two-stepping fun as we host a 3-week Friday night series of line dancing fun! This class will be held each Friday from 8:15pm-9:15pm beginning Friday, January 16 in Studio A. YOUR HEART NEEDS YOU - THIS MONTH AND ALL YEAR LONG

Love yourself as you love others by taking care of the body you have! You can also express that feeling to your loved ones by staying healthy and living longer to spend more time with them. We offer Pilates in Studio A on Mondays from 10:30am-11:30am to help you live healthier, stronger, and longer. 

CREATIVE DANCE AND DANCE BASICS RECITAL COSTUME ORDERS

The studio recitals for Creative Dance and Dance Basics classes will be held Saturday, May 30 – Wednesday, June 3 at our studio. Costumes for these classes are $56 to rent the costume or $76 for the rent to buy option (the purchase option deadline has passed). All prices include the recital fee which includes a trophy and free admission for family and friends. A copy of the form is available on the lobby desk or click here.

DANCE FUNDAMENTALS - ADULT LEVEL RECITAL COSTUME ORDERS

Recitals for Dance Fundamentals - Adult classes will be held on Saturday, June 6 and Sunday, June 7 at Elkton High School. Dancers who have missed the order deadline of January 10 will need to contact the office for options. 

• Important Note: If you have a balance on your account, please make a note that while we may have students try on their costume for sizing, they will not be permitted to take them home and we will hold the costume in the office until the balance is paid.
• Size Exchanges: Once costumes arrive, we will email the class letting them know that they will need to try them on in class that week; and, should a costume not fit at that time, we will order a new size at no extra charge. Students who are absent the day of costume try-ons, will have ONE week to stop in to the studio or exchange fees will apply.
• Receiving your costume: Costumes are shipped to our studio approximately 8-16 weeks after placing your order. 

COSTUME DELIVERY & DISTRIBUTION FOR DANCE FUNDAMENTALS - ADULT CLASSES EXPLAINED

•  IN-STOCK: SOME costumes selected for classes are listed as "in stock" items and may arrive sooner than other costumes. Once we receive, sort and label these in-stock costumes, we will pass them out in class... BUT it is possible that not all sizes of any one costume are in stock. This means that certain sizes may be shipped at a later date; therefore, some dancers may receive their costumes before others if a particular size is not available when the others are pulled and shipped. We know costume warehouses want to get their orders out as quickly as they can... as do we since we do not have the storage space to hold 600+ costumes. If your child's costume is not passed out with others in their class that means we do not have it yet so please be patient!

•  ON ORDER: SOME costumes are NOT "in stock" and have a later availability date as the costume company does not have any in their warehouse and needs to order them from the designer/manufacturer. If your class does not receive costumes in the next few weeks then the costume is on the "late availability" list which means it could be a few months before they are slated to be shipped. Please be patient and understanding of the delays, as this time of year there is a strain on costume manufacture, shipping, and distribution.

LOST AND FOUND

We have a lost and found bin at each studio location for items that get left behind; however, this bin is emptied several times a year with unclaimed items donated to Goodwill or discarded. So don’t delay… look today for lost items!



INCLEMENT WEATHER

We DO NOT follow public school closings or county/state government offices for inclement weather. Please check our Facebook page or your email to see if classes have been canceled. If your child's class is canceled once due to inclement weather, you may make-up the class by attending an extra class at the same level or lower. If the same class is canceled more than once, a make-up class will be scheduled. Please keep in mind that many of our instructors do not live in Cecil County, so we may need to cancel classes if the roads are bad in their area.

DRESS CODE

Please click here for information regarding our dress code for each of our dance styles. It is important that you dress appropriately so that the instructor can make sure your technique and form are correct. For classes requiring dance shoes we recommend purchasing those shoes at The Dance Station. Slippers found at Walmart or discount stores are not recommended as it's hard for the instructor to see if the foot is properly pointed.

NOTES ON ATTIRE: Although it is becoming more common to see professionals in the dance industry wearing crop tops, halters and sports bras, our studio requires dancers come to class dressed modestly with their torsos covered. We strive to promote a level of confidence that focuses on dance and not body image; therefore, students will be asked to change if they come to class exposing their torso. If you have any questions or concerns about this, please contact the office. Thank you for helping us to provide a family friendly atmosphere at Cecil Dancenter.

BALLET SLIPPER TIP

Please tuck your dancers ballet slipper laces underneath the top of the shoe. The lace may be cut shorter so it's more comfortable for your child (just make sure to double knot the lace). This provides a more aesthetic look for the mature dancer and for our younger dancers it helps the child/teacher to spend time on instruction rather than tying shoe laces.

PRIVATE LESSONS 

Private lessons are a great way for students to get personalized attention and individualized corrections. We have staff members available to give private dance lessons at a rate of $40-$92/hour. If you are interested in private lessons, please contact our office.
