Candlelight Vigil: Lights for Dignity


Please come as we join People First, ABLE, and other community members on Saturday, January 17, from 4:30–5:00 PM at the New Hampshire State House for a candlelight vigil honoring people with disabilities who have passed away.

The vigil will include shared remarks, the lighting of candles, and a moment of silence in remembrance.

Public Comment Opportunity: Developmental Disabilities Waiver Renewal


The New Hampshire Department of Health and Human Services has announced an opportunity for public comment on the proposed renewal of the Section 1915(c) Developmental Disabilities Waiver. The public comment period runs from January 7 through February 11, 2026.

The proposed renewal largely continues the current waiver and includes clarifications to existing services, updates to selected service limits, and revisions to performance measures. During the comment period, community members may participate in both virtual and in-person public hearings or submit written comments.

Details, key dates, hearing information, and instructions for submitting comments are available on our website. We encourage anyone interested to review the information and consider participating in the public input process. 

Valentine Luncheon


Trinity Baptist Church invites individuals with disabilities and their loved ones to attend a special Valentine Luncheon.

This is a free event; however, space is limited and registration is available on a first-come, first-served basis. Advance registration is required.

There’s still time to participate in our photo contest! We invite you to share photos that capture meaningful moments, everyday experiences, and connections that matter to you.

Submissions are open through January 31. Winning photographers will receive cash prizes, and their photo will be hung in our office.

All entries will be reviewed with care, and selected photos may also be featured in future Community Bridges materials.

National Leadership Series


Applications are now open for the National Disability Leadership Series, a fully virtual, 10-month program focused on disability advocacy, leadership, and inclusion in school, work, and community life. The Series brings together disabled young adults, family members, educators, and professionals for interactive sessions, mentorship, and community-based projects. Sessions include captioning, ASL interpretation, plain-language materials, and Spanish translation.

We encourage individuals and families who may be interested to click on the flyer to learn more and consider applying. Applications are due February 15, 2026.

Don’t miss Concord NH Winter Fest on Saturday, January 24, from 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM in downtown Concord! This family-friendly outdoor event features an impressive ice-carving competition with talented sculptors, great food from local trucks, and plenty of winter fun for all ages. Legislative Session Is Underway


New Hampshire’s legislative session is now underway, and many bills under consideration may impact individuals with disabilities, families, and service providers. We are actively monitoring legislation and will be sharing updates, hearing dates, and opportunities to learn more as the session moves forward.

We encourage community members to stay informed and engaged. We are available to help answer questions, share information, and provide guidance on understanding the legislative process, including how and when to participate.

Office Closure – Martin Luther King Jr. Day



Our offices will be closed on Monday, January 19, in observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day, a time to recognize and honor Dr. King’s legacy and the principles of dignity and inclusion he championed. We will resume regular business hours on Tuesday.
