Welcome to another excellent year with the WTS Greater Dallas/Fort Worth Chapter!

I am Stephanie Taylor, a traffic engineer and Dallas native who first joined WTS as a graduate student in California way back in 2006. I started volunteering with the Greater D/FW Chapter in 2008 on the Mentoring and Transportation YOU committees, moved away to work in the D.C. area, and then started with this chapter again on the Website and Diversity committees. Throughout my academic and professional career, I always knew there was a place for me in this industry because of the countless women and men in WTS who told me and showed me that I belong. I hope that during my term as President, I can help do the same for you.

I am so grateful to Past President Shannon McCord and Southwest Region Council Vice Chair Caren Chambers for their leadership and enduring support of WTS at multiple levels. The previous Officers, Directors, Committee Chairs, and volunteers paved the way for our chapter’s continued success, so the 2026-2027 Board has already hit the ground running. HDR graciously hosted our first event of the year, “The Color Edit,” in their Dallas office. It was an illuminating personal styling workshop led by local image consultants, Teresa Dillon and Adriana Nestora who shared so much insight with those who attended.

We also have several exciting events on the horizon. In February, members are invited to join us at our third annual Book Club at Times Ten Cellars where we will be diving into Rich Girl Nation by Katie Gatti Tassin. The discussion will be led by Diane Gollhofer Raines, and light refreshments will be provided. In March, we are looking forward to Lagers & Leadership in Fort Worth and the first Professional Development event of the year. Stay tuned for more details coming soon. Save the dates for the Annual Scholarship and Awards Banquet on April 24 in Westlake and for the 2026 Annual Conference May 5-7 in sunny Los Angeles, CA. Our chapter has a HOME Fund which can help cover the cost of conference registration and lodging for qualifying members. Applications for financial assistance are due by February 6. None of these programs would be possible without our Corporate Partners. Their commitment is what enables this chapter to support the next generation of women leaders in transportation with scholarships, send members to conferences to exchange ideas with professionals from across the globe, and be champions for local people and projects that are moving our industry forward. Calls for renewal have been sent and we would appreciate hearing back before February 13.
