It was an incredibly busy and fulfilling year at New Life Warehouse. The numbers don't even begin to tell the story. We served 800 families in 2025! We delivered 1,679 beds, gave 1,713 Bibles to the families we served, and we completed 538 whole home deliveries. That means 538 of the families we served had absolutely no furniture or kitchen items when we arrived. In December alone we served 76 families, and we were closed for two weeks that month! The demand is growing and thanks to you, we are still able to meet this critical need.
Among those 800 families were 279 families who were previously homeless or severely impoverished, 133 Domestic Violence Survivors, 96 Hurricane Victims, 100 Foster Families, 70 Refugees/Migrants, 80 Reunifications, 23 Veterans, 11 Aged out Teens, and 8 Trafficking Survivors.
The Furnish Together coalition introduces a standard definition of furniture poverty as:
The inability to access, afford, or maintain essential household furniture and goods for a
functional, safe, and healthy home. The numbers we served match the statistics at a national level. In the Spring of 2025, A Wider Circle engaged a survey research company who reached over 1,000 individuals. Some of the results of the survey are as follows:
At the current point in time, 32% of people across the United States are experiencing furniture poverty; that is, they are unable to access, afford, or maintain one or more essential household furniture goods.
- 2 in 10 households do not have enough beds for everyone to sleep on.
- 3 in 10 do not have a couch to sit on or a dresser to store clothing in.
- 4 in 10 are missing more than one critical item for a functional, safe, and healthy home
We consider it a privilege to be able to help reverse this situation for families in our community, helping to break the cycle of poverty and provide dignity and hope to the underserved.
