It’s been a great start to the year for the Rockford- Greenfield Chamber! In Mid-January, we held our Luncheon and the room was full with around 40 of you attending. Melissa Joseph from the Rockford Community Center was our Spotlight Speaker and shared more about what the RCC has to offer throughout the year. As a community member myself, I can say with 100% certainty that our community is so lucky to have this beautiful community center that is utilized by all ages. Our keynote speaker was The Rockford Breakfast Club. They shared all about how this program came to be and what their plans are for building The Rock. They are on their final phase of fundraising and hope to break ground later this year. The Rock would be for our community youth where they could hang out before and after school and receive tutoring, extra skill trainings for trade occupations, mental health counseling, a warm breakfast before school, and a place to hang out and build community.

Looking ahead, we hope you can make it to our February Coffee Networking event at The Spot on February 12th from 7:30-9am. Our coffee events are actually some of my favorite chamber events because it’s a great way to start my day networking and connecting with community members over a cup of coffee. It’s casual with no agenda and so fun to catch up with others. And don’t forget our very popular Spring Expo on March 14th from 9am-12pm. We are so fortunate to be able to partner with the Rockford Community Center and Melissa Joseph every year for this great community event! Hope to see you all at one of our upcoming Chamber Events!

Sincerely,

Shannon Sand

A very warm welcome to Close to Home Construction in Rockford!

Congratulation Star Members of the Month - November 2025 and January 2026!

Interest rates have recently dropped to their lowest levels in nearly two years, creating new opportunities for both buyers and homeowners. For those looking to purchase, lower rates can significantly increase buying power—meaning the same monthly payment may now support a higher price point or allow for more comfortable cash flow. This shift can make homeownership more attainable and open doors that may have felt out of reach just months ago.

For current homeowners, these lower rates may also translate into meaningful refinance savings through reduced monthly payments, interest savings over time, or strategic debt consolidation. Every situation is different, so it’s worth taking a fresh look to see how today’s market could work in your favor. If you have questions or want to explore your options, I’m always happy to be a resource—feel free to reach out anytime.

It may not feel like it outside, but the MN Housing Spring Market is heating up. I have met with several sellers in the past couple of weeks that are preparing their home to list some time between February-June. Many of them have been working hard all winter on miscellaneous home projects that will make their home shine once they are ready to list.

Some interesting stats to share about how things are going in the hyper local area. According to the Minneapolis Area Association of Realtors, the median sale price in Rockford is currently $355,800 with average days on market being around 83 days. The median sale price in Greenfield is $782,500 with average days on the market being around 82 days. Interest rates and housing affordability continue to be major factors for both sellers and buyers alike. However, interest rates have come down most recently and the prediction is that the 2026 spring market will be very active. Lower than average inventory is continuing the keep home prices up and there is no indication that this will change any time soon.

If you have questions about the buying and selling process, please reach out and I would be happy to meet you over a cup of coffee to see if 2026 is your year to make a move!
