1st Round Application Open
for Chicago Recovery Plan Grants
The Chicago Department of Planning & Development (DPD) is accepting applications for grant funding via the Chicago Recovery Plan in support of local commercial, mixed-use, and light manufacturing development.
Use includes pre-development, construction, or renovation of permanent capital improvement projects. The program is open to community developers, business and property owners, and entrepreneurs. The City expects awards to be capped at $5 million, though larger catalytic projects may be considered on merit.
Application deadlines are January 31, 2022, and March 10, 2022. Applicants not prepared to apply for either round are encouraged to review relevant materials in anticipation of the third round in summer.

Hispanic-owned Restaurants Grant
The United States Hispanic Chamber of Commerce (USHCC) is partnering with Grubhub to provide grants up to $10K to Hispanic-owned restaurants impacted by the pandemic. Restaurants must satisfy the following requirements:
Be majority Hispanic-owned - Have an active EIN - Employ less than 20 full-time employees
-Been in operation for at least nine months from the date of application

The Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) issued a response to frequently asked questions (FAQs) for employers re complying with Federal Fair Employment laws relevant to the COVID-19 pandemic. The FAQs specifically address the definition of “disability” and how to determine whether an individual with COVID-19 meets it under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).

Chicago Job Creators Quest Grant
Founders First CDC has helped almost 500 small businesses: grow 25% year over year, receive $21M in funding approvals, and create over 300 jobs. It invites Illinois non-profits with annual revenues between $100K to $3M to apply for a Chicago Job Creators Quest grant. Grant money can be used as growth capital to hire or rehire premium wage jobs; cash infusion can be used to purchase, fix or enhance equipment necessary to help manage growth challenges and scale for the future.
