Dear Monroe Christian School Parents,

Beginning this year our students will be going through Relationships With Integrity lessons. These lessons include:

  • K - God is Love - Children will learn about God's love for them.
  • 1 - God is Life - Children will learn about the author and giver of life, God Himself!
  • 2 - God is Spirit - Children will learn about God's Spirit and their body, soul, and spirit.
  • 3 - God is Light - Children will learn their choices impact both the kingdom of light and the kingdom of darkness.
  • 4 - God is Father - Students will see the unique relationship between God the Father, His Son the Prince and all His children.
  • 5 - God is One - This unit emphasizes God as a union of persons.
  • 6 - God is Holy - This unit will teach students to be trained for sanctification.
  • 7 - You Are Designed To Be Whole - Students begin to understand their choices leave a ripple or a legacy, even at this early age.
  • 8 - You Are Designed To Be Life-Giving - This unit highlights God’s passion for life, and His prescription written into the male and female design.

These lessons are designed for their age group in their Bible classes. We are pleased to announce our partnership with The Legacy Institute also includes a special subscription. This subscription allows every MCS parent access to their child's lessons, and every other grade as well.
This means you can see the lessons your child will receive in class, listen at home to the audio stories, watch video and even go through the parent materials from the convenience of your own home, all for free! You can also access the blueprints for your child's grade, helping to process their learning both in school and at home. This special subscription is for Monroe Christian School families only and must not be shared outside of our community.
If you have questions about the curriculum, please contact your child's teacher (K-5) or Mr. Warren (6-8).
To access the Relationships with Integrity lessons follow the instructions below:
  1. Using your browser, go to TheLegacyInstitute.com and click on the person icon in the upper-right corner.
  2. Next, click 'Login' and enter a username of [email protected] and the password Knights then click the blue Login button.
This will take you directly to the "My Subscription" screen, where all the available resources are accessed:

In the right column, under "My Subscriptions" are listed the resources for Monroe Christian parents:
  • Kindergarten through 8th Grade (High School is included as a bonus), with all the workbooks, handouts, resources, audio, and video used in the Relationships With Integrity (RWI) curriculum
  • The Biblical Blueprint for Sexual Integrity (BBSI) for parents.

IT'S AUCTION PROCUREMENT TIME!

MCS is actively preparing for the 2020 Knights Auction fundraiser. The theme this year is "Knights at the Carnival!" Scheduled on April 4, 2020! We are in urgent need of several volunteers to hit the streets and contact businesses asking for donations for the auction. Please contact the office at 360-794-8200 or email [email protected] right away if you can help!

Attached is a digital copy of the letter you can provide to businesses and the Procurement Form. Be sure to attach a copy of the form to the donated item, and leave a copy with the donor as their tax receipt. Thank you for helping to make this auction our best ever!

SERVICE OPPORTUNITY

Need service hours before registration time? We are still in need of Recess Duty volunteers for the following days:

  • Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday - for AM recess (10:00 - 10:15 AM)
  • Tuesday and Wednesday - for lunch recess (12:00 - 12:20 PM)
  • Tuesday and Wednesday - for PM recess (1:45 - 2:00 PM)

Every recess worked counts as one service hour! Please contact the office at (360) 794-8200 or email [email protected] , if you can help. The teachers GREATLY appreciate this support!

Also, your time contacting businesses to request auction donations counts! When you deliver the donated items, be sure to log your service hours. All hours worked prior to February 21 count toward your registration credit for 2020-2021 (after Feb. 21, hours will go toward the following school year). You can pick up letters and procurement forms in the office. Not sure where to start? Need suggestions of places to go? Just talk to the staff in the office. Help make the auction successful AND support local businesses - it's a win-win!
GETTING INVOLVED
 
It's a new year and maybe you have time or passion to serve MCS in one of the following ways:
 
  • Mom's Time Away to Pray (every Tuesday at 8:30 am in the Library)
  • TAPP (next meeting is tomorrow, January 21, 2020 at 3:30 pm in the Library)
  • Coffee and Conversation (1st Wednesday of the month at 8:30 am in the Library)

YoForIt

Today is TAPP's YoForIt fundraising night. This is a fundraiser event where 10% of the sales goes to support MCS. All sales between 5:00 - 8:00 PM will directly support our school, however, families can go there right after school to get a frozen treat. Just let the staff know you are there on behalf of MCS and those sales will get added to the final total.
PIZZA LUNCH DAY
 
This Friday, January 24, 2020 is Pizza Lunch Day! If you would like to pay in full for the entire school year, please refer to the following:
 
10 pizza lunches (1 slice) = $40.00
10 pizza lunches (2 slices) = $60.00
 
 Please bring in-full payments to the office. Individual payments can go directly to the TAPP's collection table. Please note, any missed days will not be refunded. Thank you.

BASKETBALL SEASON

There is still time to register for the basketball season which is starting soon. The 4th through 6th grade students are invited to join. LOVE & LOGIC TIPS

Perseverance is the key to building grit. There is no doubt that kids who develop it will lead happier and more productive lives than those who don’t. Listed below are few “grit builders” with corresponding “grit stealers.”
Teaching perseverance isn’t complicated. It requires a willingness to allow kids to experience healthy challenges as they grow. It also requires that we let them see that they have what it takes to cope with life’s challenges.
