NURSES CORNER
We are blessed to have knowledgeable and caring nurses in our congregation!

Depression, by definition, negatively affects the way you feel, how you think and the way you act (psychiatry.org) and the Mayo clinic defines this as a persistent feeling of sadness and a loss of interest. It is often underreported and people feel there is a stigma attached to admitting you might have depression. More people suffer from depression than people know. In fact, in the US about 17 million people have had an episode of depression (NIMH).

Some great ways to prevent depression include; taking steps to prevent stress, reaching out to family and friends, getting treatment at earliest sign, and seek long term therapy.

There is a hotline available 24/7 for people who may be experiencing depression 1-800-662-HELP (4357).

If interested in more information, please reach out to our Parish Nurses Jaime or Joanna,
