Study Group: Confronting Corruption in Defense of Human Rights
Frederik Obermaier is an investigative reporter for the Munich-based Süddeutsche Zeitung, Germany’s largest broadsheet newspaper. He is one of the two reporters first contacted by the anonymous sources of the Panama Papers and the Paradise Papers, the leaked documents that prompted two global investigations involving hundreds of journalists. That reporting earned a Pulitzer Prize.

Book Discussion: The Wall and the Gate
Michael Sfard, one of Israel's leading human rights lawyers and a former conscientious objector, will discuss his new book, a groundbreaking work that examines the ethics and challenges of legal work for human rights. Professor Arthur Applbaum, Carr Center faculty member, will join the panel.

Study Group: An Introduction to the UN Human Rights System
Carr Center Fellow Leo Castilho will lead this study group in which participants will learn about the UN human rights system. Apply by January 31 to join the study group via the link below on our website.

Study Group: Metamorphosis - New Rights on the Horizon
Carr Center Senior Fellow Bill Schulz and Executive Director Sushma Raman will be continuing their study group exploring new threats and opportunities for human rights in the 21st century. Schulz and Raman are writing a book on this topic, to be published by Harvard University Press. The study group will meet on four occasions this semester. (More info coming soon).
