Winter Camp Update
The health and safety of our Scouts and leaders is our top priority. Given the ongoing pandemic and mandates in place for the state of Minnesota, we are not able to accommodate units at camp in the same manner as previous years.
The council camping committee has decided to cancel the ROMP weekend on January 29-31. A virtual ROMP and Cub Polar Day event will be scheduled for early March.
In addition, remaining Winter Camp weekends will be limited to Family Camping only (meaning up to two family’s per cabin). Food service (take out) and programs will be available on the weekends indicated.
We know that this is disappointing news, but there is light at the end of the tunnel with vaccination and decreasing case counts. We are planning to have a normal summer camp program and get back to normal Scouting activities as soon as possible.
What is the next step?
Starting Monday at 1pm, you can call the Fargo Center for Scouting to make changes to your registration.
By Thursday, January 28, 2021 please let us know if you want to move your registration to another weekend or receive a refund. If you do not let us know, we will cancel your registration, and begin the refund process.
What weekends are available?
What is family camping?
Family camping is an opportunity for your entire family to come out to Camp Wilderness and enjoy the wonderful outdoors!
What activities are scheduled?
There will be scheduled time at both the Scouts BSA and Cub Scout Sledding Hills and broom ball.
What are open activities?
There will be a few activities that will be considered open. We ask when doing these activities, you maintain your distance from other groups not in your pod. These activities include: Ice fishing, snowshoeing, and cross-country skiing.
Will food service be provided?
Yes, it will be to-go style food. If you choose to have food service, you will have a scheduled pick up time at the Scouts BSA Dining Hall.
How many families can be in the same cabin or building?
You may intermix with one family besides your own inside a cabin.
- Cabins 1-12, 16: 2 families, up to 4 people unless you are direct family.
- Nature Lodge: 2 families, up to 20 people, unless you are direct family.
Above cabins will open first. Once filled, Cub Camp cabins (below) will open.
- Setter Tower: Up to 2 families upstairs. Up to 2 family’s downstairs.
- Starion Tower: Up to 2 families upstairs. Up to 2 family’s downstairs.
- Scheels Tower: Up to 2 families upstairs. Up to 2 family’s downstairs.
Will the Trading Post and Shower facilities be open?
Yes, there will be scheduled Trading Post and Shower times based on what cabin you are in.
