A Word about Global Mission Weekend

Some people that looked at the handouts from World Mission Prayer League last week asked why only the first names of some of the missionaries were listed, and why there were no pictures of some of them.

The answer is because if the Government of the countries that they are in know who they are and that they are preaching the Gospel of Christ, they could be arrested, tortured, and even killed!

Many of the members that had the pleasure of hearing Nijhar Ekka’s sermon last week asked me, “If I want to support the Ekka’s and World Mission Prayer League, how do I do it?” There are two ways.

One – Pray for our missionaries and that God protects them and opens the hearts and minds of the people that they reach.

Two – You can make financial contributions by making a check out to Hope Lutheran Church and writing WMPL in the memo line.

Is Christ calling you, or do you have a heart for global, national or local mission? The Mission Outreach Team meets the first Monday of the month at Hope Central Campus at 1:30pm. We would love to have you join us!

Come and see - or contact Fred O’Brien at (352) 250-3814 with questions.

"It Happened One Week" is a 3-hour VBS style Easter event designed for children age 5-11 to move in groups from station to station experiencing various aspects of the Easter Story.

Just like a traditional VBS, children will learn through crafts, games, music and even snacks as they walk through the last week of Jesus’ life; from triumphant entry to resurrection. Participants and grandparents will have an opportunity to experience the true story of Easter through Bible lessons, crafts games and more.
