Reunification Exercises and Lessons Learned

From severe weather and power outages to gas leaks and school shootings, there are a number of reasons that students may have to be released at different times and/or locations than normal. Having a well-planned and practiced reunification process is important for reuniting students with their parents/guardians in a safe and effective manner. For examples of reunification drills and lessons learned, we have included three reunification videos on the School and Campus Safety Resource Center Multimedia page. Additionally, Campus Safety Magazine released the article "Reunification Realities: 7 Lessons Learned from a School Active Shooter Exercise." To read the article, click here .
