Light-duty EVs range from 53 to 140 Miles Per Gallon Equivalent (MPGe) and from 1.49 to 4.17 miles per kilowatt hour (mi/kWh). Gasoline vehicles range from 9 to 57mpg.

EPA Approves California ACC Waiver


There has been a very mixed reaction to the US EPA’s approval of California’s request for a waiver to allow the implementation of the Advanced Clean Cars Regulation (ACC), the requirement to sell only zero-emission

light-duty vehicles beginning in 2035.

An analysis by McKinsey predicts that projected EV sales growth will lead to a choke point within five years where the world’s ability to supply the minerals necessary to produce EV batteries will not be sufficient to meet the projected demand for EVs.

The U.S. Army is working with the nuclear industry to implement microreactors to increase readiness and resilience at military installations to power critical military missions.

Green Hydrogen Breakthrough


Professor Mingxin Huang at the University of Hong Kong has developed a type of stainless steel that has extremely high corrosion resistance but costs a fraction of traditional precious metal coatings used in electrolyzers,

opening the door to direct hydrogen production from seawater.
