Heading into a new year and a new political era, how do we connect across political and social divides? Valley Interfaith Project’s 2025 leaders retreat will focus on the art of the relational meeting: how we can get to know each other more deeply and how that can help us organize our communities for change. Dayspring’s United Methodist Men (UMM) meetings are on the first Saturday of the month at 8:00 AM in the Palo Verde Room. All are welcome, men and women. You need not be a member of Dayspring UMM to attend. The meetings begin with coffee and a light breakfast, followed by music from the Guitar Pickers, then a short program with time for questions and discussion. The meeting this Saturday, February 1, will feature Pastor Michael Long and his life journey. Pastor Long will offer perspectives on faith and his journey to Dayspring.

Join us on Sunday, February 2, when we will all gather at Kiwanis Park (Fiesta Ramada A) after the 10:00 service for our annual play day at the park. We’ll have fun games like kickball, sack races, tug-of-war, and, of course, our annual baked goods competition. Bring your family and friends for a great time together. The second of our four build dates is Saturday, February 8! The site is near near 16th St. & Southern. Please email Mark Boyle if you are interested in signing up for this or another of our future Saturday morning build days. No construction experience is necessary. 

The Dayspring Youth are offering a babysitting event for potty-trained children ages 3-11 on February 14th from 5:00-9:00pm at Dayspring. This is a "pay what you wish" event and will serve as a fundraiser for the youth program. Youth will be leading children in games, crafts and dinner. Dinner will be pizza, veggie tray, fruit and dessert. Register HERE.

Are you interested in joining Dayspring’s hospitality team? Please join us in the sanctuary after the 10:00 service on February 16 for a brief training. By joining the hospitality team, you will have the opportunity to make others feel welcome, help with the offering, guide the congregation during communion, and build a sense of community. February 16 is the first Terry Fox Run in Arizona! The Terry Fox Run is a non-competitive run/walk bringing people together in pursuit of Terry's dream of a world without cancer. All funds raised support innovative cancer research at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. 

Participants are welcome to run or walk 1, 2, or 3 laps of Desert Breeze Park (3 laps = 5km). There is no registration fee or minimum donation required to participate. (Participants may fundraise or may donate what they can/wish.)

In person registration will begin on run day at the Main Pavilions in the park at 12:15pm. The run/walk will begin at 1pm. more

People in need often turn to the church for help with food, shelter, gas, or paying a bill when all their other options are exhausted. If you are able to make a donation to answer the immediate needs of folks in crisis, there is a fund on our Giving site called "Samaritan Fund" (in the dropdown menu). You can also donate cash or checks with a note identifying the gift to the Samaritan Fund. Our pastors are then able to provide gift cards for food or gas, a night of lodging, or make a payment for utilities to help the immediate need and then make a referral to an organization to assist the person longer term.
