Enhancing education through the appropriate use of technologies for all educators in New York State.

CEO 3

  • Greetings and welcome to 2026! Here we are at the end of a power packed January and I am excited to share the theme and logo for the 2026 Annual Conference - Quantum Leap! Big Ideas, Real Classrooms, Bold Futures. Please save the date to join us in November.

  • NYSCATE left a huge impact on Florida during FETC as Alana Winnick and her students absolutely crushed the keynote address, along with countless other NYSCATE presenters including Tim Needles, Laurie Guyon, Dan Thomas, Michelle Krieger, Deann Poleon and many, many others! So proud of our NY team and I am so proud of the team involved in kicking off of the State Alliance Network along with many other states. There is such good work happening throughout this country and it is so important to collaborate, share and lift each other up along the way. In fact, we are looking to bring the best of these ideas to NYSCATE26!

  • As we are all back in the swing on things during these cold winter months, it is not too early to start thinking ahead - March is chock full of events including the Southern Tier Regional, Mid-Hudson Regional and Digital Pathways in WNY. And if you are truly ready for summer - the 3rd Annual NYSCATE Scholarship Tournament is scheduled for July 25th at Turning Stone. Save those dates and plan to join us!

Thank you to our board members for supporting the NYSCATE member reception, held with TETA @ FETC in early January. With over 100 people in attendance, the NYSCATE presence was STRONG!

A group photo after the Inaugural State Alliance Network meeting at FETC. It was wonderful to see so many colleagues as well as the opportunity to meet many new ones as well! Stay tuned for the great work that will be coming out of this collaboration.

Are you ready to make an impact and share your compelling story and ideas at NYSCATE '26?! Whether you’re a seasoned educator or a passionate newcomer, NYSCATE “TED” Style Talks offer a unique opportunity to amplify your voice, connect with like-minded individuals, and contribute to larger conversations. Public speaking can be nerve-wracking, but it’s also incredibly empowering.

Rural AI Strategy Lab – Applications Now Open

As interest in generative AI accelerates, rural schools and districts—representing more than 40% of U.S. districts—are often less visible in national conversations.

The Rural AI Strategy Lab centers rural contexts, supporting teams as they pilot practical, equitable AI-enabled work grounded in local needs.

Participating teams receive no-cost coaching, a $4,000 stipend, and covered travel + registration for one team member to attend Symposium 2026.

Applications are due February 13
