33rd REGIONAL SCHOOL ART SHOWS: K-5, Jan 15 – Feb 22
The School Shows offer teachers and our community the ability to showcase student artists from schools in the Newton and Jasper County region. There will be two receptions for this show for different age groups. The first one on Feb. 1st for the Kindergarten through 2nd graders. The second reception will be Feb. 22nd for the 3rd through 5th graders.
Gallery Openings: Tuesdays, Noon to 4:00 PM. Thursdays, 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM. Saturdays, Noon to 2:00 PM. January 31 & February 21 only.
Closing Reception: First Presbyterian Church, 220 North Cullen St.
Grades K-2: Sunday, Feb 1st. 1:30 - 3:00 PM CST - Awards will be given promptly at 1:30 PM.
Grades 3-5: Sunday, Feb 22nd. 1:30 - 3:00 PM CST - Awards will be given promptly at 1:30 PM.
ARTCAMP Teachers Needed!
Every year we invite talented art teachers to share their skills during a week of summer workshops. This year Artcamp has been moved to June 22-26! If you are interested in becoming a new instructor please reach out now 219-866-5278/artcamp@prairieartscouncil.org or use the online teacher application form by February 26!.
Instructors Needed: Art All the Time Workshops
We invite artists and instructors from the region to use our gallery and conference spaces to teach workshops open to the public. Teachers will be responsible for collecting their own registration fees but we will provide the basic space and help market any workshops. Calendar space is limited, so if you are interested, please reach out to the Prairie Arts Council!

The Carnegie Players Presents: Shakespeare Workshops!
What is this I hear about Shakespeare?
The Carnegie Players are hosting a FREE Shakespeare Experience, sponsored by the Indiana Arts Commission! Learn all about the Bard of Avon and his works in four evenings of workshops, followed by an opportunity to be in a performance showcasing some of his plays! Whether you just want to expand your Shakespearean knowledge, or you want to experience playing one of his characters, these workshops are for you!

What is this I hear about Shakespeare?
The Carnegie Players are hosting a FREE Shakespeare Experience, sponsored by the Indiana Arts Commission! This performance will showcase a collection of vignettes and selected scenes from a variety of Shakespeare's works, and will be held February 26th, 27th, and 28th. Doors open at 6:30pm, show at 7pm. This will be a FREE event, courtesy of the Indiana Arts Commission. Freewill donations to our building fund will be accepted. Concessions will be available. Venue TBA. A sneak preview of this performance will be held at the Rensselaer Knights of Columbus during their normally scheduled Fish Fry, on Friday February 20th, at 6:15pm.
Call for entries: Wine Label Design Contest. Due April 2nd.
Our annual design challenge to create an original wine label artwork to be featured on the 2026 Carpenter Creek Cellars' Strawberry Wine. This contest is about celebrating and fundraising for PAC's Rock the Arts. Entries help us raise money to run our gallery and to continue programs like Artcamp and other workshops.
