A New Year Working in the Vineyard

Dear Parishioners,

As we begin the Year of our Lord 2024, we have much to be grateful for. We also have our work cut out for us in the vineyard of the Lord.

I look forward to many good things to come this year.

  • Our Religious Education program training our young ones in the faith and preparing them for Sacraments.
  • Growing outreach to very young families through our Preschool and other creative ways.
  • Setting goals with the Pastoral Council to focus our four priorities: Worship, Faith Formation, Evangelization, Community Building.
  • Some more opportunities for outreach, stewardship and charity this year.

This month we will try something new. We’ll begin sharing staff with St. Mary’s Church, Colts Neck. Edwin Sevillano will bring his 20+ years of parish experience as he begins to split his time as Pastoral Associate for Temporal Administration between the two parishes. He will oversee finances, stewardship, staffing, facilities, pastoral events, and planning. The Trustees and I think this sharing will be very helpful to both parishes. We’ll look for more areas to share resources during the year.

I look forward to beautiful liturgies, growing our Music program, and developing creative ways to continue our mission to spread the Gospel in the Holmdel/Middletown area of the Lord’s vineyard. May we all be open to His inspiration!

May Christ’s Peace be with us in 2024!

Fr. Pat

SVdP Year in Review

The St. Vincent de Paul Conference at the Church of St. Catharine would like to thank all those who have supported us in our mission to help those area families who otherwise would do without.

Whether you have helped by donating monthly or via the poor boxes located at the entrances to the church, we want to thank you for your support. Attached is a review of our accomplishments during our most recent fiscal year ended September 30, 2023. Please click HERE to view.

Bishop's Annual Catholic Appeal Update

As of December 27, 2023, St. Catharine Parish achieved 102% of our goal so we will receive at least $24,800 in February as a rebate from the Diocese.

A big THANK YOU to those generous parishioners whose last-minute payments in December pushed us over the top! Furthermore, the deadline for 2023 donations has been extended to January 12, 2024, so half of any donations made up until then will be added to the rebate.

If you have any questions, please contact Bob Buus at 732-946-8615 or e-mail to w2od@aol.com
