News From Belfint, Lyons & Shuman OA

Wilmington, DE – December 28, 2021 — Belfint, Lyons & Shuman, P.A. (BLS), IPA Top 300 certified public accounting and consulting firm, extends congratulations and best wishes to Jordon N. Rosen, CPA, AEP® (Distinguished), Director of Estates & Trusts, who is retiring on December 31, 2021 with more than 21 years of service at BLS and over 43 years in public accounting!
Prior to joining BLS, Jordon served as a partner in other prominent CPA firms, but he specifically mentions Carolyn Fausnaugh of Carolyn J. Fausnaugh & Associates, P.A. as having the most impact on his career. He credits her (one of the first female CPAs to have her own firm in Delaware) with bringing him to Delaware, and mentoring his 26-year old self on the journey of owning a CPA firm himself when he ultimately purchased half her practice.

Jordon began his two-decade long career at BLS on November 6, 2000, when he joined as a Principal with a specialty in tax. He was admitted as a Shareholder and Director on December 1, 2003 and went on to develop and expand a robust estate, gift, and trust practice. His commitment to this practice group reaped a personal reward when he was inducted into the NAEPC Estate Planning Hall of Fame in 2020 - an event that Jordon cites as one of the most gratifying of his career.

Jordon is looking forward most to sleeping past 7:00 am and "finally" being able to attend spring training, and he is also interested in taking some cooking classes and exploring different types of cuisines. Jordon is also looking forward to using "unlimited" PTO to travel more to Israel, where over half his family resides, as well as check off some bucket list items with trips to Antarctica, Portugal, Thailand, and Australia.

Jordon shared that the most meaningful relationships he's made during all these years of service, were those that turned from professional to friends. He is especially grateful for his time helping his clients, especially the more than 20 clients that have been with him since he first came to Delaware in 1983.

“Without a doubt, my entire career, especially the past 21 years at BLS CPAs, has been exciting and rewarding. BLS has been my second home and my clients have been my second family. It has been both a pleasure and honor to have worked alongside such strong professionals and amazing clients. I leave the firm and the profession with many memories and no regrets.” states Jordon N. Rosen, CPA, AEP (Distinguished).

Michael T. French, CPA, Managing Director states, “Jordon is well-known for his contributions to the accounting industry, our community, and to the firm in so many ways. Whether as the Delaware Ambassador of the Financial Literacy Foundation, a mentor with the University of Delaware Trust Program, an educator through his speaking engagements across the U.S., or as a consultant to his many clients and peers – it’s clear that he has made a significant impact and we will all miss him. He deserves all our thanks and I’m sure he will continue to make a great, lasting impression in whatever he chooses to do.”
