An update from the Building & Grounds Committee
Feverish activity best describes the end of 2022 for your Building & Grounds Committee.
Roof Top Unit # 1, which cools and heats the Contemporary Church has limped along for years past its expected life with the help of not a few prayers. It is the largest of four RTU’s which, together with four split units, six boilers and two air handlers, keep us comfortable year-round.
In December a new RTU # 1 was installed under the guidance of Committee member Dave Scharre. It’s nice to have an engineer in the parish to deal with the technical dimensions of a major church investment like this. Thank you, Dave!
Also in December, we installed what we are calling an Assembly Area (or perhaps just – the Circle), north of the Historic Church. Meant for informal, small-group gatherings, meditation, or just taking a lunch break, you are welcome to enjoy this cozy spot in the midst of our beautiful campus.
Joan Huber, a landscape designer whose sensitivity to our needs as a parish and the natural gifts of our space, designed and organized this project, which was made possible by a single anonymous donor.
