THE STORY YOU NEED TO TELL
Part book study, part writing workshop, "The Story You Need to Tell" will explore how to share and write our stories in ways that will lead to renewal, resilience, and well-being – even amid a pandemic or a cancer diagnosis. Facilitated by author Sandra Marinella, this course meets on Zoom on Mondays at 6:30pm, starting January 10 or Wednesdays at 10am, beginning January 12. Learn more/register
BROKE IN AMERICA
Broke in America is a new book study examining the many contributors to poverty and keeping it entrenched in our country. The authors have spent careers in dealing with the many roots and consequences of poverty and offer concrete steps communities and organizations can take to address real change. Shared books are now available through the office, local libraries or electronic versions. The Church & Society team will host discussion groups via Zoom on Tuesday, January 11 and 18 at 5:30pm. Email Bethany for details.
GIVING GARDEN
The Giving Garden needs your bagged leaves! Our composting bins are in place behind the garden shed turning green & brown plant materials into an amazing soil amendment. Since most of our garden waste is of the green variety, we are in need of more brown material, such as dry tree leaves. Email garden@dayspring-umc.com if you can help us out. Thank you!

Also, the garden team has made plans for the following Wednesday work day hours and field trips:

  • Jan. 12th @ 9:00am -- Field Trip: Maricopa County Extension Demonstration Garden
  • Jan. 19th @ 9:00 am -- Work day in the garden
  • Jan 26th @ 9:00 am -- Field Trip: Boyce Thompson Arboretum

Email garden@dayspring-umc.com for more information or to register for the field trips.
