Worship Series: The Gospel According to Dolly
Nelson Mandela, who was imprisoned for 27 years for opposing the systemic racism of apartheid in South Africa, had a favorite song – "Jolene."

There is a depth to Dolly Parton's hit song that has spoken to people in unexpected ways.

This Sunday, be ready to go deeper into our story and song. It'll be worth it.

Highlights from December 20 Colonial Council Meeting

Pastor Aaron shared that Michelle Turpen will be stepping down as youth leader. Her service to Colonial is appreciated. The Board of Christian Education will begin planning for next steps for the youth program.

The Board of Property Management reported the waterproofing project for the south wall in the lower level will begin the first week of January. A handrail has been installed on the steps leading into the sacristy. Plans are to modify the front garden in Spring 2021 to require less maintenance.

The YMCA Learning Center ended in late December. YMCA leaders and parents shared their appreciation to Colonial for welcoming and accommodating the group.

Colonial Women Rummage Fundraiser

Because of concerns about COVID-19, Colonial Women is hosting a rummage collection rather than the usual sale. The goal is to raise $1,000, which means about 5,000 pounds of items! Savers will pay us by the pound for quality items. To reach that requires 250 13-gallon white trash bags of soft goods and 200 boxes of hard goods. We are also collecting boxes of books for a book sale.
Let Marylee Battaglia know how many bags or boxes you have collected so we can see progress toward the goal. The collection is April 11, 2021. Note nothing will be stored at the church.
Celebrations!
In this time of staying connected remotely, please remember these folks who are celebrating milestones.

Happy Birthday!
