IT'S AUCTION PROCUREMENT TIME!
MCS is actively preparing for "Life is Good Here - Celebrating the Best of the Pacific Northwest!" on March 23, 2019! We are in urgent need of several volunteers to hit the streets and contact businesses asking for donations for the auction. Contact Mindy Orcutt (360-794-8200 or secretary@monroechristian.org) right away if you can help!

Attached is a digital copy of the letter you can provide to businesses and the Procurement Form. Be sure to attach a copy of the form to the donated item, and leave a copy with the donor as their tax receipt. Thank you for helping to make this auction our best ever!

TAPP MEETING
TAPP will have a meeting tomorrow (Tuesday) at 7:00 pm in the school library. If you haven't yet joined TAPP, come on by - it's never too late!

NEED SERVICE HOURS BEFORE REGISTRATION TIME?

Your time contacting businesses to request auction donations counts!  When you deliver the donated items, be sure to log your service hours.  All hours worked prior to Feb. 22 count toward your registration credit for 2019-20 (after Feb. 22, hours will go toward the following school year).  You can pick up letters and procurement forms in the office.  Not sure where to start? Need suggestions of places to go?  Just talk to Mindy or Laurie.  Help make the auction successful AND support local businesses - it's a win-win!

POPCORN DAY
This Wednesday, 1/9, is the next TAPP popcorn day.  $0.50 for popcorn or $1.00 for popcorn and Capri Sun.  Pay your teacher for the day or pay in full at the office.
YOFORIT NIGHT
Tuesday night is Yoforit Night!  All sales between 5 pm - 8 pm on January 8th will directly support our school.  However families can go there right after school to get a frozen treat, and if you let the staff know you are there on behalf of MCS, then those sales will get added to the final total.  Thank you for supporting this event!

CONGRATULATIONS! AND THANK YOU!
Congratulations Mr. Warren! Mr. Warren applied and was accepted to the CSI Bible Instruction Symposium in Washington D.C. in February. Only 30 CSI teachers across the United States and Canada were chosen: 10 elementary teachers, 10 middle school teachers, and 10 high school teachers.

The CSI Bible Instruction Symposium was formed "to champion and advance Bible instruction in Christian schools. CSI desires to serve our member schools by providing high-quality professional development opportunities to teachers of Bible to guide best practices in daily instruction."

Thank you TAPP for paying the $350.00 registration fee that allowed Mr. Warren to attend this amazing opportunity!
THE JOY OF READING
Did you know that Monroe Christian School sold 256 books at the fall book fair? That is 46,058 minutes of reading! We hope you have had an opportunity to read those books and found or checked out some additional books to read.
ART CLASSES OFFERED
Are you interested in learning how to draw realistically or learning to paint landscapes?  Please check out the link below.  By request, Jerrie Froelich is offering two after school art classes.  You must be in 5th grade or above.  All proceeds collected will go toward a mission trip to Haiti that Mrs. Froelich is taking with her granddaughter.  Payments for these classes are to be paid directly to Jerrie Froelich and are not processed through MCS.
