Stay Ahead of the Game During a Snow Event.
Are you prepared for winter weather? With more than 1,000 lane miles of streets and cul-de-sacs to clear, city crews work tirelessly during a winter event to keep public streets safe. Depending on the total snow/ice accumulation, this may include plowing, treating or both.
- If snow is expected, move vehicles off of the street. This ensures crews can navigate your street safely and helps speed up the snow removal process.
- Remove obstacles such as trash cans, portable basketball goals, soccer goals or other structures from the street.
- Give the plows plenty of room. Stay back at least 30 feet from the rear of the plow. If you can see the driver's face in their mirror, they can see you.
- Beware of reduced visibility.
