From Pastor Ben:
It has been quite the couple of days in our nation. Last Sunday, as we began our 21 Days of Prayer, I shared from 2 Chronicles 7:14. God says, “If my people, who are called by my name, humble themselves, and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land.” Wednesday's events was a clear reminder that our nation needs healing. A healing that can cross political divides, a healing that can restore broken relationships, a healing that can bring freedom, redemption, and forgiveness that is found in Christ and Him alone. It’s a healing that only Jesus can truly bring. I want to encourage us in the days ahead that we commit to be a people, called by God’s name, who humble ourselves, pray, and seek God's face.
We are almost through week one of our 21 Days of Prayer. For those who haven’t yet, I would encourage you to use the Prayer Guide that we have put together for this season. You can download it on our website (follow this link
) or if you would like an emailed or print copy you can contact the office at email@example.com. My hope and prayer for this season is that we will come before God in a spirit of humility and dependence, allowing Him to truly establish our steps.
As we continue our Pray First sermon series, this Sunday we will be looking at a prayer that we find in Scripture. It’s not an easy or safe prayer to pray. However it’s a prayer that can reveal our true needs, and a prayer that can lead us to a place of repentance and renewal as we let Christ meet our needs and conform us to His image. The prayer is found in Psalm 139:23-24. Our other key Scriptures are Jeremiah 17:7-10 and Luke 6:43-45.
We look forward to worshiping with you online or in-person this Sunday!
Update from The Elders
We want to encourage you to take time to hear from the Lord in this season and seek His guidance as to the future of Hope Church. Hope Church is a Congregational led Church. That means that hearing from the congregation in this season of transition is really important. Please share what you sense the Lord may be saying to us as a church. You can submit your comments online (here), or on the yellow card on Sunday mornings.
The elders will also be available on Sunday mornings from 9:30-10:30 to meet with anyone from our church who may have comments, concerns, or questions as we are in this season of transition. They will be gathered in the back of the Sanctuary.
Sunday Evening Prayer
On Sunday evenings from 6:30-7:30pm we will be gathering at Hope for a time of corporate prayer as we discern God’s will for us in this season. Please join us if you are able! We believe this is an important time to seek God’s direction together as a church.
