Safe2Help Illinois

Illinois recently developed the Safe2Help Illinois program, which "offers students a safe, confidential way in which to share information that might help prevent suicides, bullying, school violence or other threats to school safety." Safe2Help Illinois allows confidential reporting via text, telephone, online, and through an app. The website also features resources for kids and teens, as well as for self help and encouraging others.
National Stalking Awareness Month and National Slavery & Human Trafficking Prevention Month

January is National Stalking Awareness Month (NSAM) and National Slavery & Human Trafficking Prevention Month.

National Stalking Awareness Month:
The Stalking Prevention, Awareness, & Resource Center (SPARC) includes a page specifically for NSAM, which features resources to help people learn about, teach others about, share information on, and reflect on stalking. Among the resources are upcoming and archived webinars; PowerPoints, handouts, and other educational materials; Facebook, Twitter, and other social media graphics; and more.

National Slavery & Human Trafficking Prevention Month:
On Dec. 31st, 2020, the White House proclaimed January 2021 to be National Slavery & Human Trafficking Prevention Month and called on "industry associations, law enforcement, private businesses, faith-based and other organizations of civil society, survivors and advocates, schools, families, and all Americans to recognize our vital roles in ending all forms of modern slavery and to observe this month with appropriate programs and activities aimed at ending and preventing all forms of human trafficking."

The Illinois School and Campus Safety Resource Center's page on Human Trafficking links to resources from several organizations including the National Center on Safe Supportive Learning Environments, the National Human Trafficking Hotline, the Polaris Project, the Department of Homeland Security - Blue Campaign, and others.
