Things keep getting better at AutonomouStuff! Our company has continuously grown year after year since its inception in 2010 and 2017 was no exception! Last year we more than doubled the size, opened offices in Silicon Valley and Beijing, started a GmbH in Germany, added to our automated R&D fleet options, participated in more than 40 events worldwide and had a lot of fun doing it all! We are so excited to see where 2018 takes us!

The AutonomouStuff team started 2018 off with a bang at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas. We hosted sales meetings and another legendary cocktail party in our MGM Skyline Terrace Suite. We also made a huge impact in various locations on the show floor, the gold lot and the central plaza. AStuff-built R&D vehicles provided demos on the strip, while our team and home town of Peoria, Illinois received a shout out at Baidu World Las Vegas 2018 (more below). The team put in a lot of work, but also managed to have a great time showing off the latest and greatest all over CES 2018.
We were happy to team up with amazing players in the industry including:
- Baidu/Apollo
- Velodyne
- NovAtel
- Quantum
- Renesas
- NXP
- LeddarTech
- Phantom Auto
- Molex

The AStuff team is proud to work with Baidu to bring autonomy to the world at "China speed." Team members traveled to Baidu's Sunnyvale, Calif. office prior to CES to participate in a media day event January 5. Just three days later at CES, Baidu's COO, Qi Lu, told the standing room only crowd at Las Vegas's Mandarin Oriental hotel about how the Baidu and AStuff teams worked together to bring the world Apollo 2.0 in just one week! It was here that Lu announced the second version of Apollo — the open, reliable and secure software stack designed to help accelerate self-driving car tech forward.
With Apollo 2.0 automated vehicles can:
- stop based on objects in front of them
- follow at a set distance
- detect stop lights
- recognize other vehicles, pedestrians, etc.
- negotiate intersections
- and much more
