Celebrate Aviation 2023

We are kicking off 2023 with a great event! Wichita is the Air Capital of the World, not just because of days gone by, but because of the backbone and lifeblood for aviation that is found in the supply companies for aviation. Kansas is in no short supply. This great evening will feature opportunities to hear from three companies, including a Q&A session, as well as see the products these companies produce.

Get your tickets for this special evening, Saturday January 28th from 4-6pm. We will recognize Lee Aerospace, Integrated Components, and Bevan Aviation. We will see highlights from these companies and recognize the work our suppliers play in aviation today!

Senior Thursday Series

Join us on Thursday, January 12th for our Senior Thursday Series with Kansas Aviation Hall of Fame member, Harold Walter.

Harold has been a part of KAM for many years, serving as a volunteer in many capacities including as a docent.

Harold is an aerodynamicist who worked on various aircraft over his time in the aviation field. Now retired, he still comes to KAM often and provides tours to his friends.

Little Aviators 2022

We are excited about continuing our Little Aviators in 2023! Each child is FREE, and ONE ADULT per household is free. It's a great time to hang out and check out the indoor area plus the planes on the ramp.

Little Aviators is held every Friday from 10a-12p. Bring your friends along and have some fun playing on our computer sims, indoor play area, and hands-on STEM activities.

"Flying might not be all plain sailing, but the fun of it is worth the price"

Amelia Earhart

Just a little over 119 years ago, two brothers took to the air for a short flight at Kitty Hawk, NC. Here we sit now with aviation and aerospace continuing to evolve with flight across our galaxy. All because people dared to dream.

Our goal at KAM in 2023 is to continue to dream and then act on those to continue the growth we have seen over the past year. Our Matty Project is coming along and should be opening by the end of March. You will also continue to see additional small improvements across the museum throughout the year with updates to existing exhibits as well as new spaces opening up. We are going to continue to see our partnerships within our community and region expand, grow and strengthen.

In 2022, we saw an increase in membership of 22% for the year. Venue Rentals increased 200% and attendance increased by 40% from pre-pandemic 2019 numbers. This is in large part because of the support we have received from you. From the bottom of our hearts here at KAM, THANK YOU! Let's make 2023 great.

Sincerely,

Ben Sauceda
