Journey found a loving home thanks to the support of so many!

Journey's story begins well before we met him. In August, our longtime rescue partners, Rescue Pets Movement in Houston picked up a very sick kitty, barely clinging to life. Over months, they treated him for multiple skin ailments and infection and helped him gain weight. Once he was healthier and safe to travel, our friends in Texas reached out to help Journey find a bright new start in Colorado. Journey was still in need of dental care...and the opportunity to find the perfect family. |

Upon arrival, we arranged for 7-year-old Journey to get a much-needed dental cleaning. BizPAW (Business Partner in Animal Welfare) VCA extracted his damaged teeth and got his chompers gleaming like new. While he was staying with us, we also discovered that Journey was FIV+ (feline immunodeficiency virus positive). This virus will likely not impact his quality of life, but it's a reminder of his tough beginning on the street and one more reason that he needed to find a loving indoor home where his health could be monitored. |

During his time in our shelter, Journey charmed everyone he met, including a supporter who sponsored his adoption fee in memory of a beloved feline friend. Staff and volunteers described him as the perfect lap cat. We were all overjoyed when he finally found the perfect family on January 19th. Journey is already thriving in his new home. His family reports that he's settling in and is "a very prolific biscuit maker." They say they feel like "the lucky ones" to have found such a sweet and loving new family member. |

Journey's transformation may have been dramatic, but his story is not extraordinary. Every day, Animal Friends Alliance works with our rescue partners, business partners, and our community to make sure we help as many animals as we can and each animal has the best outcome possible for them. Every day, we work to find solutions for animals in need like Journey, and we can only do it thanks to your support. Meet Manny! Manny is an adorable pointer mix who came all the way from Houston, TX to find his new home. He is looking for an active home with people who will appreciate his goofball personality.
His foster says “Manny is a sweet and loving boy! He is energetic, playful, LOVES snow and gets really excited about clicker training. He is picking up the basics really well and is really smart! He would love to keep learning (and earning lots of treats)! He will be a fantastic companion for an active owner. He’s also very mellow and loves to snuggle (for a little bit) and play with a variety of toys. He likes to climb up on your lap to give lots and lots of kisses. He sometimes forgets how big he is and can get a little mouthy while giving kisses. He calms quickly and is learning the boundaries on nibbling. Manny is a fantastic and smart dog who is goofy, happy and very loving. He's looking for an active owner to include him in life’s adventures!”
