January Newsletter
We may already be a week into January, but it's worth saying once more:

Happy New Year!

At the Art Colony, we are looking ahead. Yes, we are excited about 2019 and all the magnificent events on the calendar. It also excites us to see the progress artists make as they work diligently and purposefully throughout the winter. And we're excited about big ideas we are planning, and how these fun ideas that once only existed in our minds and hearts slowly come to take shape in the real world. Most importantly, we are excited to have you as a part of our community, as we strive forth into the new year.
Winter Reading Groups: Sign Up Today
What's better than getting caught up in a good book during the cold of winter? Take some time to join a small group of readers who are meeting to discuss the following books at the end of January. Registration is free, so please join in by clicking on one of the books below.

Save The Date: Member Show April 26
Art Colony Members! It's time to start thinking about participating in the Art Colony Member Show, happening from April 24 through May 5. More information is to come, but for now be sure to mark April 26 on your calendars for the Member Show opening reception. More information here.
Coming next month:
Photographer Craig Blacklock
This February, we'll host Craig Blacklock for three special events. Craig has taught nature photography workshops since 1982, influencing thousands of aspiring nature photographers across the country, and his favorite subject to capture is the frozen landscapes of Lake Superior.  Be sure to add these to your calendar now!

Dan Welden, Master Printmaker, Returns
At the end of February, master printmaker, painter, author, and originator of the Solar plate technique, Dan Welden, will be returning to the Grand Marais Art Colony. He'll be leading a class, and then exhibiting work which will be available for purchase. We're thrilled to have him in Grand Marais again!
Class Registration closes soon.
