PLANNING COMMISSION RE-APPOINTMENT

Council confirmed Mayor Howes’ appointment of Steve Miller to another six-year term on the Planning Commission. Steve continues to bring a vast knowledge of and passion for Beaux Arts Village to the Planning Commission. Please take a moment to thank him for his willingness to devote time and energy to keeping the Village a special place.

RIGHT-OF-WAY MAINTENANCE

Councilmembers expressed thanks to Marc Schaadt for his rapid response to the tree debris scattered throughout the Village after the recent windstorms. Thanks also to the many Villagers who assisted in this effort by gathering debris and depositing it in dumpsters around the Village.

COUNCIL BUSINESS

The Council met on Tuesday December 10th to discuss/act on the following:

  • Comprehensive Plan Update: Continued their review of the draft 2024 Comprehensive Plan update after holding a final public hearing. The Council plans to adopt a final draft at a special meeting on December 30, 2024; the meeting will be remote over zoom with an in-person option.
  • Held a public hearing to review amendments to the 2024 Budget and passed Ordinance No. 475 adopting said amendments.
  • Passed Ordinance No. 476 adopting the 2025 Budget.
  • Continued a discussion of animal control rules in the Village to January.
