2022 Winter Days Schedule
Oops! The 2022 Winter Days schedule in the Zoo Calendar wasn’t accurate!

Our Winter Days are scheduled for January 23, February 5, February 20, March 5, and March 20. But keep an eye out on social media and our website. We sometimes change Winter Days due to severe weather conditions.

Winter Days are 12-3 pm (last entry at 2:30) and are free for Potawatomi Zoo Members. Non-members are $6.50 for adults, $5.50 for children, and free for babies 2 and under.

Won't You Be My Valentine?
Paint with our ambassador animals at this one-of-a-kind experience on February 5. Participants will meet and learn about one of our awesome ambassador animals while they paint a valentine. Participants can put their own finishing touches on their card. Enjoy cookies and a drink while you have fun!

There are two options for this program: Family Edition and Date Night Edition. Zoo Members receive a 10% discount.

The Family Edition is suitable for all ages and is from 3-4 pm. The cost is $25 per adult, $20 per senior, $15 per child. Babies 2 and under are free.

The Date Night Edition is for adults 21 and up and is from 5-6 pm. It’s $25 per person.

Love Is In the Air

This year, you can surprise a special loved one with a unique Valentine’s Day gift from the Zoo!

Our Wild About You activity box is full of Zoo and Valentine’s Day themed fun, including a plushie, a card painted by one of our ambassador animals, and the necessary materials to do a science experiment, craft, and a scavenger hunt at home. You’ll also receive a link to watch our ambassador animal painting and learn a little bit more about them.

Activity boxes are designed for any age, but are best for ages 5 and up. The Wild About You box is $35, which includes shipping. Zoo Members receive 10% off each box.

Remembering Onyo
Our hearts were saddened recently by the loss of our 20-year-old lion, Onyo, who passed away December 23. He was such an integral part of people’s memories and experiences at the Zoo, and we will forever miss him.

Many people have asked if we’re planning to get new lions, and the answer is yes. We are planning to finish updating the new lion habitat with more space and a more naturalistic environment this year. We are also planning to work with the Association of Zoos and Aquariums African Lion Species Survival Plan to find a new group of lions to bring to the Zoo.
