Workplace Safety

Get Help & Support

If you’re in emotional distress or suicidal crisis, find help in your area.

If it’s an emergency, call 911. You can also go to your nearest emergency room. A medical professional can give information about your particular circumstances.

If you believe that someone else is in danger of suicide and you have their contact information, contact your local law enforcement for immediate help. You can also encourage the person to contact suicide prevention hotline at 988 (call or text).

When you’re in crisis, research suggests that it may be helpful to reach out to others. When you connect with others, it can help you feel supported and give you a sense of belonging.

2. He attended Morehouse College, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology. He later received a Bachelor of Divinity from Crozer Theological Seminary and a Ph.D. in Systematic Theology from Boston University.

3. He became a prominent leader in the American civil rights movement in the 1950s and 1960s, advocating for nonviolent protest and civil disobedience to combat racial segregation and discrimination.

4. His leadership in the 1955 Montgomery Bus Boycott, sparked by Rosa Parks' arrest for refusing to give up her bus seat to a white person, marked a significant turning point in the civil rights movement.
