Navigating Our Way Into The New Year
By James Baker

Changes. In a word, the Chamber is going through some changes.
In my first message as the incoming Board President, I’d be remiss not to acknowledge all the changes happening at the Chamber. We have 4 brand new Board members to replace 3 who termed out, and another Board member who moved out of the area. We also have a totally new cabinet of officers to the Board. And as if that wasn’t already enough, we’re also saying goodbye to Trisha Brown who has served as CEO to the Chamber for the last 2 1/2 years. We’d like to thank Trisha for her many years of Chamber service dating back to 2014 when she first came on as a Membership Director/Administrative Assistant. Trisha made numerous improvements and contributions over the years and played a vital role in leading the Chamber through the pandemic and all the challenges it presented over the last couple of years. Her service has not gone unrecognized or unappreciated and we want to wish her well in all her future endeavors.
That said, changes are not always bad. While we appreciate the service hearts of all our past volunteer board members, we’re excited to have attracted some new and enthusiastic board members to help lead the Chamber into the next phase. We have a nice mix of experience across many industries and are committed to doing our best to represent the business community and provide support that Oakdale businesses have come to expect and deserve. We’ll be seeking to fill the void left by Trisha with a new CEO with a passion for the community and our members. We are excited to get the year going and already have a full slate of events coming. I hope to see you at The State of City is on Jan 25th!
As we navigate this transition Bri Swan is your go to for all things Oakdale Chamber! Should you need anything feel free to reach out to her at membership@oakdalechamber.com or (209) 847-2244.
Yours in service,
James Baker
Board President
