January Climate Solutions Caucus Round-Up

Dear Stakeholder,

Please see below for highlights from January and a preview of what’s to come.

January Engagement:

Caucus members met with private sector partners to discuss clean energy tax credits.

  • In mid-January, 11 members of the Caucus came together to discuss clean energy tax credits supporting tech-neutral advanced manufacturing (45Y, 48E, 48C, 45X), domestic battery and auto manufacturing (30D), clean hydrogen (45V), carbon storage and sequestration (45Q), and clean aviation fuel production (45Z) with a panel of private sector experts. Companies discussed (1) tangible impacts on domestic investments in U.S. energy technologies, manufacturing, and supply chains and (2) opportunities for Congress to work alongside industry to increase energy supply while bolstering U.S. competitiveness, national security, and reducing emissions.

Caucus staffers met to get back up to speed on bipartisan energy issues in the 119th Congress.

  • Co-Chairs Murkowski, Coons, Garbarino, and Houlahan of the Senate and House bipartisan Climate Solutions Caucus, met in late January to discuss shared priorities in the 119th Congress and bicameral opportunities to engage members and staff.

Looking Ahead:

Members plan to meet in February to discuss bipartisan permitting reform priorities for the 119th Congress.

Caucus staff plans to gather for an overview of the reconciliation procedures and further discuss considerations for clean energy tax credits throughout the process.

As always, stakeholders are encouraged to approach the Climate Solutions Caucus with priorities and engagement ideas as the 2025 programmatic calendar develops.
