Medicare & You 2017
"My annual Medicare handbook arrived recently.  Funny thing, it still says that Medicare does not pay for long term care.  Says so on page 61 and page 62 & again on page 123. A persistent, but erroneous, belief of the general public is that Medicare pays the cost of long term care services. Well Medicaid (not Medicare) is a government program that does pay for long term care but it is a welfare program. To qualify, you cannot have too much income or too many assets. LEAP (Low Income Energy Assistance Program)
LEAP is a federally funded program that helps eligible hard working Colorado families, seniors and individuals pay a portion of their winter home heating costs. The LEAP Program is accepting applications for the 2016/2017 season from November 1, 2016 - April 30, 2017 heating costs. It is not intended to pay the entire cost of home heating, but rather to help alleviate some of the burden associated with the colder months
