Thank you so much for the hundreds and hundreds of coats, hats, gloves, scarves, clothing, shoes, and toiletries donated during Project Magi!! Welcome deliveries were made to Gladden Community House, Holy Family church, St. Joseph's Cathedral. and J.O.I.N.  Please continue to pray for those whose needs are so difficult to meet.    Thanks again!"

March 23, 2017 at 7 PM in Hendricks Hall

St. Brigid High School Youth Ministry and Adult Faith Formation  invite you to an evening of compelling testimonies full of inspiration and hope from those whose  lives have been impacted by incarceration. This event, facilitated by Christine Money, will also offer a unique shopping experience by making Kindware available. Kindware is a variety of handcrafted gifts made by incarcerated women and men to support their incarcerated brothers and sisters as they transition to freedom. The Kindware items are beautiful and will make great gifts, while supporting a Christian, justice oriented ministry. The messages you will hear will move your heart and may encourage you to explore social justice further.

Altar Server training is Feb 19

All students in the fifth grade and older are invited to become Altar Servers for the Weekend and Holy Day Masses.

At the present time we have only 99 Altar Servers. This is not a sufficient number for all the liturgical needs we have at St. Brigid of Kildare. Therefore, we are urging all those in fifth grade and above to consider becoming an Altar Server. You will have only one evening class to attend, one short section from the Liturgical Ministry Manual to read and study, and three mentoring sessions with an experienced Altar Server. Do this and you are ready to be scheduled as an Altar Server. It is a rewarding service!

Our next training session for Altar Servers is February 19, 2017, Sunday afternoon in Church from 3:00 pm until 4:45 pm. Please register by February 12  so that we can be prepared to welcome you. Register online here.

For more information, please  contact Todd Pepe or Steve Gyuro at

Event to support "JJ Strong"

We are pleased to share with you a special event to support 8th grade St. Brigid of Kildare Religious Ed student JJ Thomas and the "JJ Strong" cause (JJ was recently diagnosed with leukemia). On  Friday, January 20th, you are invited to put your best foot forward and lace up with the Lady Basketball Celts as they play in their "Hoops For A Cure" game to raise funds for leukemia research.  The JV Ladies take the court at  6:00 p.m., with the Varsity game beginning at  7:30 p.m.  Raffle tickets will be sold during both games for a chance to win cash and prizes donated from generous local vendors.  You can also try your luck at the three point contest that will be held during half-time of the Varsity game.

Show your support for the team by purchasing a t-shirt designed by Larkin Thomas at  www.promoplace.com/tlgraphics/presentations/955728 and wear it to the game.  For every t-shirt sold, $4 will be donated to the cause.  They look forward to seeing you there.

Lent Madness Brackets Due Feb 13

Lent 2017 begins on March 1st and the brackets for Lent Madness are due February 13.

The Lent Madness format is straightforward: 32 saints are placed into a tournament-like single elimination bracket. Each pairing remains open for a set period of time and people vote for their favorite saint. 16 saints make it to the Round of the Saintly Sixteen; eight advance to the Round of the Elate Eight; four make it to the Faithful Four; two to the Championship; and the winner is awarded the coveted Golden Halo.

The first round consists of basic biographical information about each of the 32 saints. These will be in the booklet entitled Saintly Scorecard, available now in the parish office while supplies last.

Things get a bit more interesting in the subsequent rounds as we offer online quotes and quirks, explore legends, and even move into the area of saintly kitsch.

Click below to view and print your bracket, or pick up a copy at the kiosk in the gathering space. Instructions are on page 2. Remember, brackets are due February 13.
