The Community Foundation is now accepting scholarship applications.  The deadline is Monday, February 27th All applications must be submit ted online. To begin your application, please click here .

This year we have 46 available scholarships. You can view the full list
here. After submitting your general application you will be directed to a page where you can choose specific scholarships.  Some of our scholarships are automatically matched through the general application while others require additional information.

Start filling out your application now since transcripts and reference letters must have time to be submitted.


 
Seven Steps to Easy Philanthropy

  1. Discuss your overall philanthropic goals with your family members and legal or tax advisors.
  2. Decide how much you can afford to give and which assets you would like to give.
  3. Determine the causes/organizations that will use your donations to meet the goals you support.
  4. Meet with us to discuss your plan. Ask questions, explore the different options available to you and review the documents needed to implement your plan.
  5. Share the documents with your family and your professional advisors.
  6. Transfer your gift to us or set up a future gift through your estate.
  7. Review our confirmation of your completed gift and the plan for grants to be awarded from your fund.

Animal Shelter Fund

 
Animal lovers can buy a brick to support enhancements and expansions to the new Animal Shelter, such as a livestock shelter, outdoor adoption visitation space, and an emergency vet fund, while also honoring the memory of a beloved pet, commemorating a special occasion or proclaiming your love and support of animals in need.

4"x8" bricks - $100 
8"x8" bricks - $200

Each engraved brick will be a visible part of the main entrance and garden area of the Shelter.

Other naming opportunities are also available for donors who wish to support the construction or enhancements and expansion of the Animal Shelter. Read more about them here.

Fund Spotlight!

 
Community Impact Fund 
 
The Community Impact Fund was created in 2016 and is made up of the following funds: James Russell Anderson and Zora Carter Anderson Endowment Fund, Buck- Wayland Fund, Faith Home Endowment Fund, Clarence L. Giles Fund, Harry Melton Hood Fund, Elizabeth (Betty) W. Jefferson Fund, D. Webster, Jr., and Elizabeth S. Marshall Fund, James A. and Anne V. Robertson Fund, Barbara H. Sater and Herbert W. Sater Memorial Fund, and John C. Swanson, Jr. Fund.

This fund is a pool of unrestricted funds that help fund organizations during the competitive grant cycle. Watch for our first Community Impact Fund grants to be announced January 18.

Gifts may also be directed to the Community Impact Fund. Each year our Board will address a broad range of local needs from this fund.

~The Autism Education Fund and Keokee Fund will be accepting applications in January with a February 20th deadline. Be thinking about any projects for which you wish to apply.

 
The Keokee Fund's purpose it to support the education of academically gifted students.  
 
The Autism Education Fund's purpose is to support autism education-related programs or organizations benefiting individuals, families, educators and the community.
