The Year Ahead

Happy New Year! Heritage Conservancy is grateful to everyone who helped with the successes of the past year.

We had many notable achievements in 2022: our Christmas at Aldie event was the most successful one to date, we launched our Guide for Social-Emotional Learning, worked to accept The Grand Theater into our Register of Historic Places... Read More.

SEL Walks

On December 8th and 9th, 174 first-grade students took a field trip to Croydon Woods Nature Preserve for a mindfulness nature walk. During the walk, students practiced using breathing techniques and stretching to find a moment of calm and use their senses to make observations about nature. After the walk, students reported feeling calm and peaceful.

Heritage Conservancy engages with students through SEL Walks, our No Longer Bound After School Program, and more through our EITC funding.

Historic Aldie Mansion Voted Best Philadelphia Wedding Venue of 2022

The Historic Aldie Mansion has been voted one of the best Philadelphia wedding venues of 2022, by PartySpace.

Aldie is a monument to Doylestown's storied past; it is rich with history, and its survival is the result of a cooperative effort at preservation.

This 1927 mansion began its history as a beloved private residence when it was commissioned by William and Martha Mercer as an ode to the English Tudor manor. The Aldie gargoyles, intricate brickwork, antique tiles, and charming garden ornaments have been faithfully preserved as part of Bucks County’s unique heritage.

Testimonial

"Starting in 2023, we are pledging a consistent monthly contribution to support Heritage Conservancy’s projects. I hope you will join us in pledging to support the critical work of Heritage Conservancy.

I grew up in northern Bucks County, and much of my youth was spent exploring natural areas within a bike ride of Quakertown. My fascination with the natural world motivated me to study wildlife biology for my Bachelor’s, Master’s, and PhD degrees and led me to a 30-year career with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service as a migratory bird biologist.

Heritage Conservancy’s mission aligned well with our values, and, as we are sure you agree, the accomplishments are impressive. We were attracted not only by the natural and cultural conservation projects but also by the focus on educating the next generation of conservationists and using nature for social and emotional learning. Participation and investments by numerous private, public, and community partners, along with individual donors, attests to the strength and effectiveness of the organization.

Heritage Conservancy was the perfect fit for preserving the natural world that inspired me toward a career path and still provides us with a spiritual haven."
