Year in Review

At the end of December, I shared a recap of engineering activities, research, and more. The attached slides provide a follow-up to our end-of-year faculty and staff meetings.

Staffing Updates

On 1/21, Michele Diehl will join the college's enrollment team as Director of Undergraduate Recruitment and Engagement. She has served as Director of Undergraduate Admissions at Gwynedd Mercy University in Pennsylvania since 2003.

We are also in the final stages of the searches for Director of Graduate Recruitment and Senior Director of Marketing and Communications positions - stay tuned in the coming weeks for additional updates there.

Faculty Development Workshops

As announced at the last faculty meeting, don't forget to mark your calendars for upcoming faculty development workshops. Up next is "How do I start a company as a Drexel Engineering faculty member?" to be held Thursday, January 23, at 2 p.m. in Hill Conference Room, LeBow 240. Join Drexel experts and learn how to translate your research to market, in response to the question, "What is academic entrepreneurship and how can I start a company?" Presenters include:

  • Michele Marcolongo, PhD (Author of Academic Entrepreneurship: How to Bring Your Scientific Discovery to a Successful Commercial Product);
  • Kapil Dandekar, PhD, Entrepreneur;
  • Kathie Jordan, PhD, Coulter-Drexel Translational Research Partnership;
  • Shintaro Kaido, Office of Applied Innovation; and

P-Card Compliance Refresher

A friendly reminder that tomorrow, 1/14, our faculty and staff P-Card holders are invited to join us along with representatives from Procurement Services from 9 - 11 a.m. in Hill Conference Room. The workshop will include refresher training on P-Card and travel policies and practices, and offer an opportunity for you to meet directly with staff from Procurement.
