Our December Young Leaders day was one to remember!
We kicked things off at My Old Kentucky Home, where our group enjoyed an incredible tour of the home and learned about its rich history and the people who lived there. It was intriguing, eye opening, and a great way to start the day.
Next, we headed to Making Good Scentz for candle making fun. Our Young Leaders got hands on creating their own candles while also learning about entrepreneurship and the ups and downs of running a business.
From there, we hopped on trolley rides thanks to Manoj Patel and Holiday Inn Express Bardstown. During the ride, Stacey Phelps and Taylor Hall shared insights on tourism and hospitality and what those industries look like locally.
Lunch was enjoyed at the historic Talbott Tavern, where our group learned even more local history while enjoying a great meal.
We wrapped up the day with a meaningful visit to the African American Heritage Museum, ending our experience with reflection, learning, and appreciation for Bardstown’s full story.
A huge thank you to all of our partners who helped make this day impactful, educational, and fun for our Young Leaders. We are already excited for what is next.

December Connect – A Perfect Way to Close Out the 2025 Year!
We wrapped up our final Connect of the year on December 17th, and what a fun one it was! From festive ugly sweaters to 10 door prizes, the event captured the spirit of our Chamber community.
A huge thank you to Town & Country Bank and Trust Co. For hosting and to Bourbon City Kitchen & Trade Company for providing a delicious soup bar that kept everyone warm and happy.
As we reflect on this event, we’re reminded of what an amazing year it’s been—filled with connection, growth, and support from our incredible members. We’re so grateful and can’t wait to see what the new year brings!

The Bardstown-Nelson County Chamber of Commerce is partnering with the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation to host the National Civics Bee, a nonpartisan competition encouraging 6th, 7th, and 8th graders to engage in civics and contribute to their communities. Students can showcase their civic knowledge and ideas for improving their community for a chance to earn recognition and cash prizes.

This initiative is part of our ongoing commitment to supporting local businesses and enhancing the well-being of our community.
About the BluMine Health Benefit
Employees of Chamber member businesses, as well as their eligible dependents (ages 2-26 if still considered dependents), can now access BluMine Health’s concierge primary care services. For those not employed by a Chamber member business, individuals can join the Chamber to take advantage of this benefit.
This service provides comprehensive, front-line primary care, including:

- Annual wellness physicals
- Basic lab work and blood draws
- Cold/flu treatments and much more
Affordable and Accessible Healthcare

GREEN DOT
The Bardstown-Nelson County Chamber of Commerce would like to recognize Green Dot as the Spotlight of the Month.
Green Dot is a violence prevention program funded by CHI Saint Joseph Health - Flaget Memorial Hospital focused on creating safer, healthier communities through everyday actions and leadership. The program empowers individuals to recognize potentially harmful situations and respond in positive, appropriate ways before violence occurs.
Locally, Green Dot partners with schools and community organizations to promote respectful relationships, reduce bullying and violence, and encourage a culture of accountability and care. Through events, engaging trainings, student clubs, and interactive activities, participants learn how small actions, known as “green dots,” can interrupt harmful behaviors and create meaningful change.
Green Dot believes everyone has a role to play in prevention. Whether it is speaking up, supporting a peer, or modeling respect, these actions collectively help shift community norms toward safety and inclusion.
