Our upcoming monthly safety teleconference on January 12, 2021, addresses the top 5 safety violations most frequently noted by the AMLJIA Risk Control Specialists when they conduct Loss Control Inspections on municipal and school district facilities for our members.

These violations include:
  • Electrical Safety Blocked electrical panels, “daisy-chaining,” broken electrical sockets and cords.

  • Exit Routes Blocked exit/entryways, missing/broken emergency exit signs and emergency lighting.

  • Hazard Communication (HAZCOM) Missing labels on chemical or cleaning bottles, no written HAZCOM program or Safety Data Sheets.

  • Fire Extinguishers Missing or obstructed fire extinguishers, missing inspection tags, or expired.

  • Housekeeping Blocked aisles/walkways/doors, trip hazards, items stacked too high on shelves.

Monthly teleconferences are held the second Tuesday of every month at 10:00AM.
