2026 Citizen of the Year Nominations Now Open!
Do you know someone whose heart, dedication, and quiet leadership make Lafayette a better place to live? The Lafayette Chamber is seeking nominations for the 2026 Lafayette Citizen of the Year—an honor reserved for residents who embody the very best of our city.
We’re looking for individuals who:

Let the Light In Exhibit
Moraga Art Gallery announces a new exhibit, Let the Light In, an enticing display of creativity, featuring landscape paintings by two member artists, Irene Needoba and Elizabeth Kennen, each gifted with a unique and thoughtful vision of the natural world.
The show also includes paintings, jewelry, ceramics, sculpture, glassware, etchings, woodwork, photographs, prints, and much more by the gallery’s core of members.

The Tone Collective
Join ModernTone Studios for the Tone Collective, an ongoing weekly music program for singer-songwriters, solo guitarists, pianists, and independent artists who want to grow as performers in a supportive, creative community. Focus on practicing songs and developing a strong musical voice, a confident stage presence, and a meaningful connection with other musicians. Whether new to performing or looking to deepen their artistry, the Tone Collective offers a place to belong, create, and evolve.

Modern Voices Ensemble Auditions
Modern Voices Ensemble is a small, auditioned group of adult singers that offers a supportive, collaborative space to grow musically while building real connection and community. Led by music director Jessica Winn, the ensemble brings people together to make beautiful music, strengthen their skills, and experience the joy of singing in a welcoming, friendship-centered environment.

Teen Band Enrollment
The ModernTone Teen Band offers students a real-world band experience that goes far beyond weekly rehearsals. Participants collaborate on writing original music, learn how to record and release their songs on streaming platforms, and discover how to promote themselves through professional press materials. With extended rehearsals and increased performance opportunities, students build musicianship, teamwork skills, and confidence while experiencing what it’s truly like to be part of a working band.

International Film Showcase - An Officer and a Spy
International Film Showcase is bringing a powerful and timely French film to the Orinda Theatre for at least one week starting January 16. Recently named TIME Magazine’s #2 film of 2025, it tells the true story of Alfred Dreyfus, a Jewish army officer wrongfully convicted of treason, making it an essential and moving watch as antisemitism continues to rise worldwide.

California Symphony Presents Schubert in Vienna
Travel to Vienna without leaving Walnut Creek as the California Symphony tells the story of how and why the city became the musical capital of the world. Opening with instrumental excerpts from Mozart’s witty and melodious Don Giovanni, Bay Area favorite Nathan Chan then takes center stage in Friedrich Gulda’s Cello Concerto, an outrageous mix of jazz, rock, blues, classical, and improvisation. The journey culminates with Schubert’s grand and majestic Ninth Symphony, aptly known as “The Great.”
Enhance your night with signature cocktails, strike a pose at the photo booth, and join a free 30-minute pre-concert talk by award-winning instructor Scott Foglesong one hour before the performance.

Lafayette Downtown Mural Unveiling
The City of Lafayette warmly invites you to celebrate the unveiling of the first mural in the Lafayette Downtown Mural Program, created by artist Rachel Perls. This vibrant new work reflects our commitment to creativity and public art.

A Mariachi Valentine with the Diablo Symphony

Mountain Shadow Film Society - Mr. Nobody Against Putin
Mountain Shadow Film Society's February Coming Attraction comes directly from the Palm Springs Film Festival. The true life docu-drama, Mr. Nobody Against Putin, tells the powerful story of a courageous Russian teacher who secretly documents how his primary school is transformed into a recruitment and propaganda tool during the start of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine, turning him into an international whistleblower and forcing him to flee his country.
