ISR Appointed to Steering Committee of WHO Global Diagnostics Coalition


The International Society of Radiology (ISR), a Non-State Actor in official relations with the World Health Organization (WHO), has been actively engaged in the WHO Global Diagnostics Coalition (GDC) since its establishment following adoption of World Health Assembly (WHA) Resolution 76.5 on Strengthening Diagnostics Capacity in 2023.


Recognizing the importance of medical imaging in improving global health, WHO appointed ISR to the Coalition’s newly formed Steering Committee in December 2026. This Steering Committee provides strategic direction and supports implementation of WHO initiatives to expand access to essential diagnostics worldwide.

News From the ISRQSA

ISRQSA Welcomes New Member


The ISR Quality and Safety Alliance (ISRQSA) is looking forward to welcoming a new member: The newly established quality and safety campaign that will shortly be launched under the name “China Safe” is planning to formally join the Alliance. The ISRQSA membership will add dedicated emphasis on radiological quality and safety to the ISR’s long-standing collaboration with the Chinese radiological community. The ISRQSA is excited to see the global community for imaging safety and quality continue to expand.


ISR at IAEA International Conference on Radiation Protection in Medicine - X-Ray Vision


The ISR was proud to be a cooperating organization of the International Conference on Radiation Protection in Medicine — X Ray Vision that took place at the IAEA headquarters in Vienna and remotely from 8 to 12 December 2025. Co-sponsored by the World Health Organization and the Pan American Health Organization, the conference reviewed the impact of the decade-long Bonn Call for Action in view of formulating a strategy for the next decade.
