The Life Ministry Team has been very busy the past few months! We ask that you continue to pray for us and come work along side us, as we strive to protect all human life.

Below is all the exciting news we are so happy to share with you!

Yours In Christ,

Angela

We Have a New Addition to Our Staff!

Marisol is from Brooklyn, New York and moved to Miami about five years ago to pursue her education. She earned her associates degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography in 2019 at Southeastern college and then went back to school to get her BA in Natural and Applied Science with a minor in Biology. She is a recent graduate of Florida International University and hopes to be attending medical school within the next few years! Marisol says, "I came to Respect Life with the intention of educating others on the value of human life and that babies are gifts from God - they are a gift with a purpose and should be cherished and loved. I’m hoping to spread awareness to stand up for these little voices, save their lives, and give them a chance to see the world. Also, I enjoy helping others and giving back to the community, as well as putting a smile on people’s faces."

South Dade PHC Has a New Home!

We are extremely happy to announce that we have FINALLY signed a lease for the NEW South Dade Pregnancy Help Center! The building is located at 7385 SW 87th Avenue in the "Offices in the Park." It is .09 miles (approx. 4 mins) from the Millenium Women's Center and 4.4 miles (approx. 12 mins) from the Planned Parenthood in Kendall. We are confident that strategically placing ourselves here will enable us to save more lives and souls!

We will need YOUR help to make a smooth transition:

  • We take possession on March 1! We may need assistance doing some light cleaning/painting March 1st - March 3rd in preparation for the move.
  • We are in need of a moving truck! Would you be willing to rent one for us?
  • We are in need of bodies to load and unload the truck for moving day, which is Saturday, March 4th!
  • We are in need of people to help set up the center March 6th - 10th so that we can open on Monday, March 13th.

If you are willing to lend a hand, please contact Belkys Rodriguez-Prado.

Pray for a Stay of Execution

for Donald Dillbeck

Donald Dillbeck is scheduled to be executed on February 23 at 6:00 p.m. Mr. Dillbeck was sentenced to death for the 1990 murder of Faye Vann, in Tallahassee, Florida. He is also serving life sentences for armed robbery and armed burglary, as well as for the 1979 killing of Lee County Deputy Sheriff Dwight Hall.

In a letter to Governor DeSantis, Michael Sheedy, FCCB executive director, implored the governor to consider the mitigating factors and to commute Mr. Dillbeck's sentence to life without parole. Mr. Dillbeck endured multiple traumas throughout his life, including severe childhood physical and sexual abuse. Research shows that such trauma has severe effects on a child’s developing brain, which can profoundly affect behavior. He also suffers from irreversible brain damage and developmental disabilities as a result of Fetal Alcohol Syndrome due to extreme prenatal alcohol exposure.

"We also ask that you choose life for Mr. Dillbeck because of the harms caused by implementing the death penalty in Florida. Its use is a violation of the dignity of the person and an indictment on the low value placed on human life itself in society," said Sheedy.

Catholic faithful and members of the community are urged to pray for the victims of violent crimes and their families, for Donald Dillbeck and those on death row, for Governor DeSantis as he confronts the decision to proceed with the execution, and for an end to the use of the death penalty.

We Are Ready to Minister to Men in Our New Program!

We are so happy to announce that our post-abortion healing program for men will begin in May! Many have called our dedicated line, mourning the loss of their children and we are now prepared to minister to them in a special way. We are pleased to introduce you to Pablo and Juan, who will lead the men's retreats and gatherings under the guidance of our Special Programs Coordinator, Marcela.

Pablo is a parishioner from Our Lady of Guadalupe, where he has served in the post-abortion healing ministry for the past 6 years. Pablo tells us, "I feel empathetic towards men suffering the affects of an abortion experience because I have suffered this myself. Even though it was the worst decision and experience of my life, I have felt healing and forgiveness from God and I feel with certainty that my son is real and with our Lord."

Juan Felipe is also a parishioner at Our Lady of Guadalupe . He too has suffered the loss of a child through abortion and attended a post-abortion healing retreat, and shares, "I have found a way to name my pain and heal that part of my life that I had suffered in for so many years. Entering Canaan allows me to continue this healing process, allows me to continue talking about it -and-I believe that the empathy we have for others who have suffered the same trauma, allows us to find that strength to truly forgive ourselves."

If you or any man you know, is suffering the loss of a child through abortion, please share this information and contact Marcela.
