FINDINGS
On target, again

Since 2016, the Office of Research has recognized University of Cincinnati researchers who made it into the upper echelon of sponsored research funding each year.

In those six years, 43 faculty researchers and scholars from across the university system have garnered this prestigious recognition all six years or five of the six years. We call them our rainmakers.

Money isn't everything, but it would be difficult to reach the goals of UC's 10-year plan, Research2030, without external support.
So we want to take a moment to commend the hard work of these UC colleagues, who made the list this year.

Mark your calendars

Each year, Research + Innovation Week showcases the extraordinary research of our faculty and students who are having an impact on our communities and the world.

This year's theme for Research + Innovation Week is Confronting Crisis. Hear from researchers across campus who are confronting society's biggest problems through research and innovation.

Mark your calendars for Research + Innovation Week—we’ll have something for everyone.

Coming: March 28-April 1, 2022.
HERD rankings are in

The National Science Foundation released its 2020 Higher Education Research & Development Survey in late December and UC rose in its federal research expenditures from 2019.

For 2020, UC ranked:
53rd
overall
35th
among public institutes of higher education.

Time Sensitive
Funding deadlines approach

Do you have a team research project or creative idea brewing? UC wants to establish new partnerships within and beyond our institution to launch ideas that will have an impact on our world.

The Office of the Vice President of Research is offering $25,000 pilot grants in its Collaborative Research Advancement Program. The two-step application process includes presenting in a pitch event at Research + Innovation Week in late March but, first, letters of interest are due Feb. 1. Finalists will be announced in early March.

There are also opportunities approaching for the Major Proposals Support Program and the Core Enhancement Grant Program. For all internal funding opportunities, visit the OoR's Funding website.
